Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Karfolio app and to karfolio.com. They also serve as the End User License Agreement for the app, including the zero-tolerance content rules in section 6.

1. Who you are contracting with

Karfolio (“the app”) is provided by Karfolio, Marsstraat 40B, 6133 WL Sittard, The Netherlands.

By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Your account

  • You must be 13 or older to use Karfolio.
  • You provide accurate information and keep your password secure.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not share your account or impersonate someone else.

3. What Karfolio is

Karfolio lets you build a digital garage, record drives with GPS, collect vehicles you spot, and share all of that with other users. It is a hobby and enthusiast app.

It is not a navigation app and not a measuring instrument. Distance, speed and route are estimates derived from your phone's GPS and can be inaccurate. Do not rely on them for anything that matters legally or financially, including tax mileage claims, without verifying them yourself.

4. Using the app while driving

Do not operate the app while driving. Start and stop a drive before you pull away or after you have stopped.

You are responsible for obeying traffic law in your country. We are not liable for anything that happens because you used your phone behind the wheel.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display and distribute it inside the app, for as long as you keep it posted.

6. Content rules — zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation or gender identity
  • Sexually explicit content, nudity, or sexual content involving minors in any form
  • Violence, gore, or content that glorifies self-harm
  • Illegal content, or content promoting illegal activity — including street racing and dangerous driving on public roads
  • Spam, scams, phishing or misleading commercial content
  • Content that is not yours to post, or that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or privacy
  • Photos of people taken in a way that violates their privacy, or vehicles photographed to expose or harass their owner
  • Impersonation of another person or organisation

Content of this kind is removed and the account behind it can be suspended or terminated without warning.

7. Reporting and blocking

Every post has a Report option in its menu, and every user can be blocked from their profile or from any of their posts. Blocking works in both directions.

We review reports and act on them, normally within 24 hours. Depending on what we find, we remove the content, warn the account, or terminate it.

8. What we may do

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and change or discontinue features. Where reasonably possible we give notice; for serious violations of section 6 we act immediately.

9. Availability

We do our best to keep Karfolio running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The app is provided “as is”. We are not liable for lost content, lost drives or lost time, except where liability cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

10. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time, in the app (Settings → Security → Delete account) or at karfolio.com/account-deletion. Deletion is permanent and immediate — see the privacy policy for exactly what is removed.

We may terminate your account for violating these terms.

11. Costs

Karfolio is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, the terms and prices will be shown before you buy anything, and purchases will run through the App Store or Google Play.

12. This website

karfolio.com gives information about the app and offers beta signup. No rights can be derived from its content: features, plans, prices and the launch date may change. The texts, images, the logo and the name Karfolio belong to us; copying or reusing them requires our permission. Vehicle make and model names belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

After signing up for the beta you get a personal invite code meant for real signups. Submissions made automatically, in bulk or with other people's addresses may be removed, including the referrals attached to them.

13. Governing law

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the District Court of Limburg, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to your own local court.

14. Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes are announced in the app. Continuing to use Karfolio after a change means you accept the new terms.
